What to expect from the introductory meeting

Coaching is a very special relationship, based on absolute confidence and trust, so it’s important to make sure a connection exists before you choose a coach.

For this reason, I offer a free introductory meeting which can be via phone or Skype/Zoom. This brief 20-30 minute ‘chemistry meeting’ is a chance for you to learn a little about me and my coaching style, and for me to understand what you are hoping to get out of coaching.

A little about the clients I work with

About 50% of my coaching work is done virtually with people throughout the Australasia region. The other 50% is done face-to-face in Adelaide (and interstate).

With regard to gender, I work with an even split of men and women across all management levels within a range of industries.

In terms of age range I work with, about 20% of my clients are aged 22-35, 60% are aged 35-50, and 20% are 50-65.  

As a Leadership Coach, the commonality among all my coaching clients is that they are leaders. 

Some information about how the sessions are structured

If you decide that I’m the right coach for you, we will book the first one-hour coaching session for a mutually convenient date/time.

Coaching sessions can be face-to-face or virtual (telephone, Skype/Zoom). Current esearch shows that telephone and Skype meetings are just as effective as face-to-face coaching, but if your preference is for face-to-face coaching that’s fine.

In the first session we will identify your goals and what you want to achieve through coaching. I recommend a minimum of four coaching sessions and many people benefit from coaching over a longer period (6 months to a year).

Where you coaching is sponsored by an organisation, a 3-way meeting with your Line Manager (the sponsor) may be requested or recommended. This is normally the second coaching session. This is held after the first coaching session, where we have discussed your objective or goal for coaching. The purpose of a 3-way meeting between you, me and your Line Manager is to set a sense of direction and purpose for coaching and ensure the expectations of all three parties are aligned. This also provides a basis on which to review progress.
